Woodburn

Woodburn is the shopping mall. There are many kinds of stores here (clothes, food, shoes, cap, and so on). Mainly clothes store is famous for the people. Because there are many brands here (UNDER ARMOR, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and more). They sometimes have a sale. They had it during the Spring break. The only thing the people hesitate to go is where it is located. It is too far from downtown, Salem. It takes 40 minutes by car. But It has value to go there even if it's so far.

the State Capital

There is the State Capital next to Willamette University. The building has a golden man statue. People can recognize the State Capital to see it. It's a symbol of the State Capital. From Willamette University, there are some people go to work in the State Capital as an internship. In the State Capital There is a gift shop to sell the souvenirs. Of course, the State Capital has been working for Oregon. For it, there are senators. The students are working for the senator as a secretary. The State Capital works for Oregon and Salem in many ways.

Lu'au

The second cultural event is coming to Willamette University on this Saturday. This is Lu'au, a event about Hawaii. People can see the Hawaiian cultural dance and eat the Hawaiian foods. The Hawaiian foods sound very good! They are a fusion between Japanese food and American food. There are rice cake, sushi and so on. You just heard, you might be think it's Japanese food. But it's not. The Hawaiian people made it different from Japanese. And long time past, hopefully they became good with the American culture. The Hawaiian cultural things are all nice!! Folks in Salem are looking forward to seeing that.

Pow-wow

There are many things to do in the Powwow. There are many Indians who were wearing traditional costumes in and outside of the Sparks gym. They were colorful and bright, and had sounds like bell. People entered the gym, you might be surprised because there were traditional music and dance in the center of the gym. There are many people, who are from children to older people, in there. People might think that I want to see them in the vast nature if I could! And there are many jewelries and accessories in the store outside and inside of the gym. You can also see a dreamcatcher, this is one of the traditional crafts and it means only good dreams would be allowed to filter through. One can suspend the dreamcatcher from the ceiling to filter out the bad dreams. And there are the Indian food inside of the gym.You should eat some. And you should take pictures of them and bought many things related to Indian. It would be a great experience for everyone. You could learn American culture.
